Annotation

The recorded New Zealand findings on sex differences in linguistic politeness, compared to studies from the U.S. and elsewhere, strongly suggest that greater politeness of women is a widespread phenomenon, connected to men's widespread power advantage and sex-differentiated patterns of socialization.
