This book presents feminist issues in especially literary translation theory and practice from a cultural studies perspective. Translation is considered throughout as a kind of socioculturally rooted literary activism. Considered case studies involve: a historical review of translation and female translators; a description of the transatlantic displacement of French feminists' writings; and a discussion of contemporary feminist Biblical translation.
