Examining people's involvement with language, the first section of this paper mainly discusses different attitudes of users towards language and characteristics of their involvement with the text processes of speaking-writing and listening-reading. Section II surveys the field of emotion as the most typical and important manifestation of the speaker's involvement and contrasts it with the dimension of cognition.
