Annotation

This study shows that whilst the English conjunction because in spontaneous conversation emerges from immediate, clearly identifiable speaker-recipient negotiation, it emerges, in more planned, edited genres, in specific rhetorical contexts, maybe as a result of an internal dialogue with projected recipients.
