Annotation

This book criticizes the gender blindness of SLA and bilingual research as well as the monolingual treatment of language and gender. Hence it aims at ‘establishing a new interdisciplinary field of multilingualism, second language learning and gender’, which entails more emphasis on context and on social and cultural constructivism, and less emphasis on individual linguistic and psychological processes.
