In this cognitive science approach to deixis in narrative, deixis is considered more broadly as referring to spatial and temporal location of narrative events, to the perspective from which events are understood and to the means used by writers to convey this information. The general emphasis is on cognitive models, conversational and event context and the use of general knowledge.
