Annotation

This paper discusses the dependence upon fixers and in particular ‘parachute’ journalists, in the light of changes in Western media's foreign -in casu Iraqi- news gathering. Since 2003, the security situation has changed drastically, and few Western journalists possess a professional competence level in Arabic.
