Abstract

In this book, Lieven D’Hulst presents an anthology of texts about translation, divided into three groups: texts from theorists, introductions from translators, and summaries of translations. By doing this, the author wants to stress the diversity of tendencies, themes and discursive forms in writings about translation in the period from 1748 to 1847. These texts reveal different and sometimes contradictory approaches.
