Annotation

An experimentally based investigation of the genesis of concept formation and language use, and their mutual relations and influences. Piaget's and Stern's theories on this matter are critically discussed and on the basis of an experiment on the developmental course of word meaning in childhood, and one on the development of the 'scientific' and spontaneous concepts of the child, the problem of language and thought is extensively discussed.
