This volume includes the works of academics and professionals in the field of Public Service Translation and Interpreting from different countries. Their contributions are in English and Spanish and have been divided into five sections: the first offers a description of the state of the art of PSI&T in the European Union in general and in communities like Germany and Poland specifically; in the second, the training that exists in this field as well as the resources and ideas that trainers have at their disposal and the minimum requirements that should be demanded for said training are discussed; the third section covers the research being carried out in diverse areas like the pragmatics of translation or a cognitive study on healthcare metaphors; the fourth includes works on practice and its relationship with the institutions; and the fifth and last section delves into the field of translation.
