What is the position of the Netherlands in international culture? That is the question to which seven authors try to formulate an answer in this volume. On the basis of detailed research, they want to contribute to a better understanding of the international interdependence of Dutch culture. The authors examine how the cross-border cultural exchange evolves for different areas such as visual art, film and literature. This book contains one chapter focusing on Dutch translation abroad and the translation of foreign literature into Dutch.
