Abstract

The alchemists of languages are translators, interpreters and terminologists which, in Quebec, cut down language barriers in order to let information flow. This book traces the evolution of these professions since 1940, the year in which the “Société des traducteurs de Montréal” was founded, which was re-baptised in 1965 to “Société des traducteurs de Québec”.
