The development of relevant standards for terminology management in China has been greatly influenced by the west and often follows the basic principles of common terminology. In recent years, a Chinese terminology database came into being and has kept on growing. However, there are some limitations to the principles and methods of the previous international terminology standards. This brings new challenges to the terminology management standardization practice in China, and also puts forward new requirements for the “Sinification” theory construction. This article combines the development of data processing standards for the “Standardized Terminology Database of Discourses with Chinese Characteristics for Foreign Translation”, and considers the practical logic and theoretical innovation of the standardization of the terminology database with Chinese characteristics. New ideas and methods for standardizing the foreign translation of Chinese terminology databases are explored.
