Research on construction of Chinese translatological discourse has been theoretically strengthened since the start of the 21st century, but its methodological discussion is still insufficient. According to the translation reality in China, the author presents four methods: mining traditional terms, refining modern concepts, using foreign categories and improving existing presentations to highlight Chinese wisdom and thinking. He believes that the path of China’s translatological development should not simply consist in “returning to the old” or “erasing Western discourse”, but in “seeking close dialogue with the West on China’s stance”.
