Abstract

This edited volume contains most of the lectures held on the sixth international conference ‘Grundfragen der Übersetzungswissenschaft’ at the University of Leipzig on September 11-13, 1996. It consists of ten main parts, focusing on aspects such as translation theory, translation didactics, problems of interpreting training, the role of computers in translation practice and training, translation as an intercultural process, problems of specialized text translation, terminology studies, problems of literary translation, the assessment translation performances and psycholinguistic research of translation.
