This is a comparative translation study which aims to analyse the equivalence theory based translation method of Jean Paul Vinay and Jean Darbelnet. The purpose of the study is to identify the semantic relationship between the source text and the target text and to analyse the function of equivalence. The study consists of the analysis and explanations of the key concepts and classifications of translation and implementations of Vinay and Darbelnet’s methods to the comparative samples.
