The present study has presented certain approaches to deal with apparently synonymous words at both the ST analysis and transfer. Once it has established - using different approaches-, that the Qur'an contains words which appear synonymous and that there are nuances of meaning between such words, the translator can now proceed to transfer the message and search for the closest equivalents. The comparison of the components of meaning of the ST and TT words tabulated by the Componential Analysis assists the translator in observing the nuances of meaning between the ST and TT word, thus choosing the closest equivalents.
