Abstract

This paper aims to investigate the different terminological needs of translators and interpreters based on scientific literature. Interpreters should carry out an accurate terminological preparation before the event in which they will interpret, whilst translators can do it after receiving the text to be translated. First, the main differences between these two professionals regarding the use of terminology are identified; secondly, this paper analyzes three multilingual terminographical works on the environment. Lastly, observing the macro-and microstructure of the glossaries, this study seeks to assess whether any of them would be suitable for the interpreters’ terminological needs.
