The purpose of this book is to shed some light on the life and works of French writer Marcel Schwob. The book is divided into five main chapters. The first chapter presents biographical data about the writer. The author’s literary oeuvre is explored in chapters two and three. Chapter four situates the writer’s fiction work in a cultural and social context, while chapter five mainly concentrates on an analysis of Schwob’s Hamlet translation. Finally, the translation of Daniel Defoe’s Moll Flanders is also given attention.
