Abstract

The book presents a detailed analysis of the milestone of Tok Pisin Literature, the Buk Bible. Tok Pisin, a Creole spoken throughout Papua New Guinea, has become more known due to this bible translation. The status of the language and the threat of the increasing importance of English, as well as the postcolonial search for identity are discussed.
