Abstract

The criteria for Bible translation since the Middle Ages have been very diverse, and in many cases there has been no linguistic focus. According to the authors of this work, a true translation of the Bible is one that remains faithful to both the original text and the language into which it is translated, through the use of appropriate language structures. The book presents a study of translation criteria, including those followed by the 16th and 17th century classics, as well as a theoretical and practical analysis of the translation of poetic texts, proverbs, idioms and ready-made phrases.
