Відстеження руху очей із застосуванням відповідної технології перетворилося на важливий метод дослідження у кількох сферах перекладознавства (див., наприклад, Doherty & Kruger 2018; Hvelplund 2014; Kruger 2019; O’Brien 2009; Walker & Federici 2018). Він широко застосовується у розвідках процесу перекладу для вивчення когнітивних (див. статтю «Когнітивні підходи» (Cognitive approaches) у першому томі) процесів, залучених до перекладу та пост-редагування (див. статтю «Пост-редагування» (Post-editing)
