Поняття «проблема» пронизує перекладознавчий дискурс, байдуже чи йдеться про теоретичні (наприклад, зосередженість на вивченні лише однієї проблеми теорії перекладу, як пропонує Дж. Голмз), дескриптивно-пояснювальні чи прикладні його аспекти. Неважливо навіть, чи вживається термін «проблема» взагалі. Ще рідше зустрічається термін «розв’язання», хоча він є логічним доповненням терміна «проблема».
