Person as a subject
This book widens the view of the “Paris School” on translation by including other publications than the Paris school usually refers to, and by asserting that literary translation is not simply a matter of deverbalising-reverbalising. The author discusses several aspects of literary translation, such as interculturality, point of view, the translation process, foreignising vs. domesticating translation strategies, modernising vs. archaic translation, and so on. The texts under discussion are mainly novels and stories translated from German into French. Particular attention is paid to French Kafka translations. [Source: W. Tesseur]
