This paper describes the major negation strategies that occur in the critically endangered Northern Samoyedic language Forest Enets. A particularly interesting feature of negation in Forest Enets is the existence of several negative auxiliaries and negative modal verbs. Typologically, clausal negation in Forest Enets belongs to the asymmetric type with the exception of the imperative, which in the second-person singular forms shows a mix of both the asymmetric and the symmetric types.
